  My Horses
This page is dedicated to the subject I portray the most in my artwork. I have owned, bred, trained, and shown horses for over 20 years, and for nearly 20 years I have specialized in Paso Fino horses. During that time I have done just about everything with my horses. I mainly trail ride, but I have also competed in Limited Distance Endurance Rides, Team Penning and Sorting, Speed Games, participated in Parades, Breed Demos and Exhibitions, enjoy Horse Dancing, Dressage, and shows. I like to prove that Paso Finos can do it all.

I currently own two Paso Finos and an Arabian/Mustang cross mare.

Fantasma de Dominar  1993 7/8 Puerto Rican Paso Fino stallion

“Phantom” is one of those rare, once in a lifetime horses. Since he was a weanling I knew he was something special. “Phantom” developed with balanced conformation, tremendous athletic ability, and a willing and gentle temperament. Once he was started under saddle it became evident that he had the signature soft, ambling gait of the “old style” Puerto Rican horses.

“Phantom” loved the trails. Together we would spend hours at a time wandering through the woods. By the time “Phantom” turned four we gave team penning a try. “Phantom” was a natural and he loved it. Even the die hard Quarter Horse owners gave him respect as he would often times out maneuver and out work stock horse breeds at the arena. When “Phantom” turned six we entered our first show. Though he never really cared for the show ring he always placed well in the local Open shows. Over the years “Phantom” and I have been showing in Halter, In-Hand Trail, Costume, and various Gaited Pleasure classes, as well as participate in numerous local parades and festivals.

Starfire  1990 Arabian/Mustang mare

Starfire has been the only resident “non-Paso” I have owned.  She was a mere six hours old when she was given to me. I raised and trained her myself. While I was waiting for her to grow up and begin saddle training I bought my first Paso Fino, an aged pure Puerto Rican mare named Luz Nelia. Over the years I have owned many Paso Finos but I have always kept Starfire around. I had leased her out a few times to have foals for other people but she was never far from home.

Starfire has had five foals for me, three of which were sired by Fantasma de Dominar. She has had a total of eight foals over the years; four half Pasos, two half Arabians, and two half Quarter Horses.

Alma de Alicante  1996 Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino mare

Alma has one of the prettiest faces and most soulful eyes I've ever seen on a mare. Her name actually means "soul". Alma has bounced around over the years and this is actually the second time I've owned her, but this time she's here to stay. She is kind, gentle, easy to handle, child and beginner safe, and a pleasure to be around. She is a very classy mare with a delicate step, long flowing mane and tail, and an elegant carriage. She's been used for trail riding, parades, was a lesson horse, a broodmare, and a youth "Ride n' Shoot" mount. She has only had three foals so far (one sired by Fantasme de Dominar). Alma will be bred to Fantasma de Dominar in the summer of 2012. After that she will be bred exclusively to pure Puerto Rican stallions to preserve the bloodlines.
